“Rise and come forward!”

Jesus spoke these words to a man He had singled out in a synagogue almost 2000 years ago. For me, these words also express the mission of Trinity Formation Resources. We are a non-profit organization devoted to helping Catholics come alive in faith by encountering the truth and love of God revealed by Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.

Life-changing treasures in the Catholic Church have remained "buried" for many Catholics. The Scriptures, the sacraments, the lives of saints and the teachings of Popes and Councils seem to have little relevance for their lives. Our ministry strives to unfold and explore these treasures in a way that is faithful, dynamic and understandable to ordinary Catholics. By doing this, we hope to awaken their faith, and help them develop a more vital relationship with God.

I am grateful to God for all the opportunities to serve Catholics through this ministry since 1995. But we believe God wants to do even greater things at the beginning of the Third Millennium. Our fervent prayer is that we will be open and ready to be led by the Holy Spirit in all we do.

We are proud to say that all we teach is in accord with the Magisterium of the Church. In addition, we enact ministry with the permission and support of our Ordinary, the Archbishop of Seattle.

Our Founder

Dr. Thomas Curran is director of Trinity Formation Resources, a non-profit ministry dedicated to helping Catholics understand, live and share their Catholic faith. Tom’s dynamic and humorous speaking style make him a popular teacher and conference speaker all across North America.

In addition, Tom offers serves Catholic priests and ministry leaders through Formation-by-Phone sessions.

Tom has a graduate degree from the Gregorian University in Rome and a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Catholic University.

Previously, Tom served as the Director of Evangelization 2000 for North America and the Caribbean. In that role, he helped ministry leaders of Catholic evangelization initiatives around the world to develop and inspire Catholic responses to Pope John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization in preparation for the Great Jubilee Year 2000.

In addition, Tom:

• served as a Consultant to the National Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Evangelization.
• wrote “Speaking of God to People Today,” the official response of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops to a request from the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for Culture.
• taught in the Religion Department at Rivier College, a Catholic college in Nashua, New Hampshire.
• worked for three years as the Director of Evangelization for a Catholic parish in Manchester, N.H.
• served as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Council for Catholic Evangelization.

Tom works extensively with Catholic priests and ministry leaders:

• He was the first layman ever to lead a Retreat for Priests in the Diocese of Peoria.
• He leads Formation-by-Phone sessions for priests and ministry leaders around the country.
• He has led workshops for priests and deacons on preaching and “making disciples.”
• He works as a Consultant to the Office of Priest Personnel of the Archdiocese of Seattle. In that role, he has worked one-on-one with more than a dozen priests in an ongoing way since 1997.

Tom is in great demand as a conference speaker at events throughout North America. He has given more than 1,000 presentations to over 200,000 Catholics in 30 states and 6 countries.

Tom speaks at retreats for priests, seminarians, deacons, women, men, ministry leaders, young adults and youth, and also leads parish retreats and missions.
